Grant Call: 2025 Social Science and Humanities Research Fellowship Call
Project Status: Ongoing
The project aims to enhance the integration of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in Singapore secondary schools by examining the use of GenAI among teachers and students, and by developing educational resources that support the application of GenAI in secondary education.
The objectives of Asst Prof Farhan’s project are:
Examine how teachers design lessons that integrate GenAI.
Analyse student GenAI interactions, using big data mining and deep learning methods.
Co-develop and evaluate educational resources to support co-creative-transformative GenAI integration.
Investigate the quality and equity impact of GenAI integration on 21st Century competencies (21CC) and learning outcomes.
The project will support the development of locally contextualised resources for GenAI teaching and learning, inform policy design and implementation, and promote Singapore as a thought leader in meaningful GenAI integration. Findings will also address a growing education concern on how GenAI could be integrated in schools in ways that are meaningful, equitable and developmentally appropriate.
